One week of care for a raccoon at Wild ARC

This sponsorship supports a week of care and rehabilitation of a special wild animal like this Raccoon.

As the only wildlife centre on Vancouver Island that rehabilitates raccoons, Wild ARC admits well over 100 raccoons each year! Orphaned baby raccoons need about six months of intensive care before being ready to return to the wild – in addition to a species-specific formula that meets their nutritional needs as they grow, raccoons need to learn a range of climbing, foraging and social skills. Without mum to teach them these things, Wild ARC’s rehabilitators and volunteers provide extensive enrichment challenges to make sure they are prepared for their wild life.
